About Michael

Pro golfer Michael Putnam was born on June 1, 1983 in Tacoma, Washington. Michael currently plays, and is ranked the #1 player on the Web.com Tour, winning two times so far in 2013, already securing his PGA TOUR card for the 2014 season. He attended Pepperdine University prior to turning professional in 2005. Putnam was a three-time All-American golfer at Pepperdine between 2002 and 2005. He was the 2005 Byron Nelson Award winner.

Michael played on the Web.com Tour in 2006. During that time, he had two 2nd place finishes. That year he finished 17th on the money list to earn his PGA TOUR card for 2007. He returned to the Web.com Tour from 2008 through 2010. Michael returned to the PGA Tour in 2011 where an unfortunate injury prohibited him from playing till mid 2012.

Putnam won the 2010 Utah Championship, 2013 Mexico Open, and 2013 Mid-Atlantic Championship on the Web.com Tour. He won the 2004 Pacific Coast Amateur prior to turning pro.

Michael is also the co-creator and co-founder of Stixtips golf instruction programs which launched in July 2013.
